How to create Gift Message


Gift Message


Gift Messages allow you to include a card or message inside your orders. Gearment supports both personalized messages for buyers and fixed cards for sellers.


1. Create a Gift Message


  1. Go to Studio → Gift Message
  2. Click Create Gift Message



Supported Gift Message Types


Gearment supports two types of gift messages: Custom image & Upload image


1. Custom Image (Text Added Per Order)


This option allows buyers to add a personalized message.


  • Upload a 4 × 4 inch design file
  • Gift message text is filled in when: Creating an order manually; Importing via file; Creating orders via API
  • The message content is provided by the buyer
  • An additional $0.49 fee per order applies


This option is ideal for buyer-facing personalization, such as birthday or holiday messages.



2. Fixed Image (No Text Input)


This option uses a static design with no text customization.


  • Upload a 4 × 4 inch card design
  • No text input is required when creating orders


This option is suitable for sellers, such as:

  • Thank-you cards
  • Promotional inserts
  • Discount or voucher inserts


Simply upload the design and save the gift message.



2. Apply Gift Messages to a Store


Set Default Gift Messages for a Store


You can automatically apply Gift Messages to all orders from a store.

  1. Go to Store → Action → Gift Message
  2. Click Add Gift Message

You can select up to 5 Gift Messages per store



Set a Gift Message Duration


You can define a time range so that all orders created during that period automatically include the selected Gift Message.



3. Apply a Gift Message to an Individual Order


When creating an order, you can select a Gift Message directly for that specific order.



Once created, Gift Messages can be reused across stores and orders, helping you enhance the unboxing experience for your customers.
